image Winter in Queensland

Here in the subtropics we plant our favourite cool climate crops over winter as finally the temperatures suit them.

Our small yard is wonderfully productive at the moment. Big smiles.

We’ve been eating broccoli for a little while, even though the warmer days make it set quickly.

You’ll see a tomato in the middle for when the broccoli is done. Seems these two like growing together.

The kale and silverbeet garden is happy, we’ve kept a cover over it to protect it from white butterflies.

These snow peas are almost done so we’ve planted more to catch the last of our cool weather.

Looking forward to the beetroot and we’ve been picking carrots for a while now. Sort of thinning them I suppose. We love baby carrots and so do the neighbours.

I’ll stop now and not go on and on. Next post will be about our newly discovered orchard space. Yay.

Sending JOY to you in this amazing day.
