We’ve tried quite hard to grow fruit trees in the great space across the front of our property but the wind is just too harsh for all but the most hardy of trees.
Surviving out the front we have a bay tree, Kaffir lime, lime and curry leaf. Along with the meet’n’greet rosemary and hardy ground covers.
Then one day we really looked at the Chookie-Babes area and realised the potential if we removed the scrambling shrubs.
Look at the space. And it’s a protected microclimate.
Now we have a banana zone.
Black Sapote – chocolate pudding fruit.
And a ‘miniature’ mulberry.
With the chooks doing all of the cleaning up regarding fruit drop and bugs.
Awesome stuff huh. I’ll keep you up to date with production.
Wishing you JOY on this beautiful day.
